The cervical cancer support group and health community is for patients, survivors and family members of women diagnosed with cervical cancer.
The cervix is the lower part of the uterus, the place where a baby grows during pregnancy. Cervical cancer is caused by several types of a virus called human papillomaviruses (HPV). The virus spreads through sexual contact. Most women's bodies are able to fight HPV infection. But sometimes the virus leads to cervical cancer. You're at higher risk of cervical cancer if you smoke, have many children, use birth control pills for a long time, or have HIV infection. The FacetoFace Healt Cervical Cancer Support Group and Health Community was created to provide women a secure place to ask others about their experiences with cervical cancer. If you are patient, survivor or family member of someone with cervical cancer, please join this cervical cancer support group.
