I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease which means I have to eat everthing Gluten-Free which is a big challange.
It's getting easier, many regular grocery items now say if they are gluten free. Three years ago, my daughter and I had to read every item to look for hidden gluten. General Mills has made all of their chex cereals ( except wheat of course} gluten free. They also have gluten free cake mixes and brownies. Eating out is the hardest but restaurants are slowly getting aware.
I was diagnoised 2 years ago, Gluten Free, Vitamin B12 deficincy as well as Vitamin D. Extreme Joint and Nerve pain. I have the Dermatitis Herpsformis Skin problelms. Stomach issues are just about gone..It's the other issues that are driving me crazy. I have no idea what kind of Doctor that would treat this as a whole....Any ideas or is there anyone that is going through the same thing???
An internal medicine specialist could help with most, if not all, of the "complications" that go along with CD. It is worth it to do all that you can to replenish your body.
Gluten free living is easier now with the FDA labeling requirements and so many restaurants have GF items on their menus. No more fast food however.
