Lupus Flare Continues & Trembling

I thought the flare was receding, but today was awful again. So exhausted, weak and tired. Stayed in bed all day. I have another symptom that concerns me and would like to know if anyone other lupus victim experiences it. My hands tremble and shake. My grandmother's hands would tremble, and I remember her calling it "palsy". The strange thing is that is does not happen all the time. The last time I had it was two to three months ago. My employees at work noticed it often and brought it to my attention before I was laid off last July. I would believe it was a drug allergy, but nothing has changed. I talked with my rheumatologist about it during my last visit. He noticed my trembling as soon as he entered the room. He examined me, asked some questions but did not seem too concerned. It does not hurt but would love to know if anyone else has this symptom.

Hi Kanah,

I just wanted to check in with you to see how you were doing this week.  Have your symptoms gotten better? Did your doctor have any insights into your trembling hands?

The trembling was not directly addressed.  It is a nerve related issue, and my rheumatologist is focusing on my other nerve problems right now.

He doubled my prescription for Lyrica at my appointment yesterday.   I was able to obtain my medicine with no problem (YEAH!) and started it last night.  I am quite "stoned" right now.  I am certain my body will adjust in a while.

The good news - the pain has been reduced some and I am so drugged right now that I don't really care about the rest.  Will update my diary later and hopefully will be able to report continued improvement!

Thanks for caring, Smalls!

Sharon

While I do not have lupus, (my daughter dose -sle) I do have other health issues, and find that some of my medications cause the hand trembeling. Check your meds for reactions to them.

That is good advice, rem10102.  Thank you very much.  I will check all of the medicines out.

In my mind, I had eliminated the possibility of a medication side effect, because if my meds were the problem wouldn't the trembling be constant... not come and go?  Maybe not.

I will post the results of my research later.

Thanks, again!

Here goes, I beleive that a good doctor with any of his clients that have Lupus, Fibro, MS, ALS should first make sure that their client does not have Lyme, or any of the many co-infections that are transfered via the tick, flea, or any biting insect.  This is an epidemic and the medical field is doing the biggest disservice to the public by not addmitting this is a serious health issue.  "Under Our Skin" should be seen by everyone!  I have been on a long road of discovery and have stepped back from being labeled fibro and MS

hello kanah;

believe me i know about trembling!! i have been diganosed with sle for 18 years. i did okay until 3 1/2 yrs. ago. i have been in a serious flare since then. i started to tremble about 8 months ago. at first not bad but NOW! wow i sometimes cannot put on eyeliner without damage to eyes! all the doctors do not know what causes it for sure. with us it can be anything. i do find a nerve pill helps to calm the shakes. there is so much they can not tell us we have to figure it out on our own. that is what makes us strong:) hang in there.

LOVE AND PRAYERS

Hi, I am new to this site. I am here to get information about others with the same health conditions... My daughter has SLE, FIBRO., DIABETES TYPE 2, NEUOPOTHY.

She has had a terrible flare for a long time now... about six months. She gets ... skin lessions, head aches, kidney stones, fluid retention, swollen throat, ( or feels swollen and hard to swallow.) Nueopathy in legs, constipation, knots of muscle tissue.. bloating of the stomach right after eating. Her hands shake from time to time. She is on various medications, for the lupus, fibro., and neuopothy. And comments and or suggestions are very welcome. I need and want all info. that anyone that has any or all of the above conditions has, or knows about.

Thanks.

Hi rem10102, im 24, from Malaysia and i know exactly what your daughter is going through, i've had sle for 4 years now, it started out with mild, but now it has attacked my kidney so fast that docs says i should start chemo for the kidney next week. I guess when it starts to affect the kidney, she'll develop all those sympthoms. Its very frustrating and i cry myself to sleep every night, at times i wish i go to sleep and not wake up the next day. I've lost almost all my hair due to lack of protein, rashes on the face and body, i've gained weight, swollen eyes, ankle, gastric (due to steroids), mucsle aches, including the throat, and when that happens, its very painful to swollow, blurry vision that is more often nowdays, trembling hands and knees, joint pain, chest pain (fluid retention in the lungs), n the list goes on. I wish i could offer more suggestions to help your daughter but im not improving myself, but i did start naturopathy recently, u can check it out if you have it over there, it worked for many, it helps with my joint/ muscle pain that i hardly take painkillers nowadays. That's all i have for now, stay strong for yourself and especially your daughter, its a disease that will eat you up slowly, we'll keep praying for a miracle, its harder done than said, but lets keep praying for a miracle, God is good.
