Chiropractic Vs. Physical Therapy

I used to be a big fan of going to the Chiropractor - usually felt really good when i left the office. Last year I was running a bunch and my back started hurting due to the running. After running a 10K in Snoqualmie, WA I flew back to Colorado. The next day I literally could not sit up out of bed. I went (very painfully) to the Chiropractor who proceeded to give me an adjustment (note: no xray - in hindsight a bad thing). After going three times and things were not getting better I went to my physician - they put me on some muscle relaxors and away I went - another week - didn't get better. So my physician recommended that I see a physical therapist - which i never had done before. So off I went. The physical therapist spent about an hour with me and adjusted my pelvis that was rotated - one side highigher than another. When I entered - I couldn't bend more than 30 degrees - when i left I could touch my toes. After about 5 more sessions I was better. It makes you question sometimes the modalities and how they work, etc. This experience has led me to not goto the Chiropractor any more - largely that they didn't do an XRay and I could have had a ruptured disc, etc. My rotated pelvis was because the year before I had injured my foot and had to wear one of those foot boots - about 1 1/2" rise between your other foot - do that for two months and guess what - your pelvis is really screwed up.
