Allergic Reaction - Cause Unknown

I woke up yesterday with a rash all over my body.  I'm assuming it's an allergic reaction to something I ate so I'm taking Benedryl.  I didn't eat or drink anything unusual, but I'm wandering if my system has recently developed an allergy to something I'm used to eating (like mushrooms).  Is it possible?
