Trach and laryngectomy patients using the Wright Mask report positive results!

We’re seeing some great results from patients who are using the Wright Mask!

Two patients have checked in with us in recent weeks, and both say the Wright Mask is making a difference in their lives.

Mr. N., who lives in Miami, tells us his throat feels much better since he started using the Wright Mask. It used to be dry and sore, and it bothered him even more than his nose and mouth.

Keep in mind, Mr. N. had a tracheotomy in July 2005, and he never nebulized. Instead, he just put up with the dryness until he was given the Wright Mask earlier this year. Since then, he has been using it every day for 30 minutes.

Mr. N. said the Wright Mask has reintroduced moisture into his system and made it more comfortable for him to breath. Not only is his throat feeling better but his nose and mouth also aren’t bothering him the way they did before he started using the Wright Mask. On top of that, his trach is moist and his secretions have thinned out.

 Mr. K.’s story is similar. The New Yorker is a laryngectomy patient who also started using the Wright Mask this year. Prior to the Wright Mask, he was humidifying his laryngectomy stoma but not his nose and mouth. His nose and mouth were dry, as was the back of his throat. In fact, he had no nasal secretions.

And even though Mr. K. was humidifying his laryngectomy stoma, his mucus was not as thin as he wanted.

After using the Wright Mask every day for a few weeks, the mucus collecting in Mr. K.’s laryngectomy stoma was thinner and easier to expel. His nose even started running during humidification treatments! He said it was like a tap was turned on. Finally, his nose was moist again. And, with his nose well humidified, his throat also felt better!

The Wright Mask has been on the market since February.
