I''ve had Complex Partial Seizures since I was 15 years old. I had brain surgery in 1998 to try and control the seizures, but it actually made them worse. I used to have an aura before a seizure occured, but after the surgery I no longer had them, therefore, I injured myself on numerous occasions. Before my surgery I was placed on a medication study, so that they could try and find the correct medication, but to no avail. After my surgery I went through a state of depression, but continued to try different medications, different doses, and different combinations of medications. Because my seizures were not under control and I injured myself when they did occur I was placed on Disability. My seizures have now been under control for 4 years and I was able to go back to work. I continue to take my medications, but have been able to decrease the dosage.

	I don't know if I would recommend this procedure or not. It made my seizure condition worse. My doctor told me that it may have been because a small section of where the seizures were occuring in the brain did not show up on all the tests that I had done.
