My Bio
I was diagnosed with lupus at the ripe age of 16. That was 7 years ago and I struggled through high school drumline with arthritis pains in my joints, especially in my hands, and had to deal with sleeping everyday in my classes, between band practices, right after school, through meals, etc. After high school I held three jobs, all of which I was forced to resign from because lupus would decide to flare up and I would end up hospitalized. I have been trying to attend college since summer of 2004, and am 2 semesters from getting my general education completed. I have been going to college on and off, according to my health. Lupus seems to be hereditary in my family and I have lost three aunts, my grandfather, a cousin, and my little cousin was recently diagnosed. I have an aunt that has lupus in remission and an uncle who is living with it. Lupus attacked my kidneys and as a result my body almost poisoned itself. I received a transplant in the summer of 2008 and have lived a semi normal life ever since.
